Your Wellness Guides

Alex & Charlotte Bear, WA-state certified nutritionists

Hi! We are Alex and Charlotte Bear, WA-state certified nutritionists with a combined 20+ years of experience teaching culinary skills and helping people reach their wellness goals through nutrition counseling and health coaching.

We met in graduate school at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, OR while completing master’s degrees in holistic nutrition. On a spring break trip from Portland to Vancouver, BC in 2018, we bonded over an idea of teaching a community to come together and heal around local, organic foods. We fell in love on that trip - cooking together with friends on a small farm in Freeland of all places.

In June 2022, we returned to get married on that same farm, moved to Whidbey later that year, and are forever grateful for the chance to be fulfilling our wildest dreams by founding Whidbey Nutrition in Freeland in 2024!

Testimonials

  • Alex and Charlotte have been wonderful assets on my nutrition journey. Not only have I lost weight, but more importantly I look much much better and have more mental clarity than I did before working this program. Plus they gave me a bunch of tasty and nutritious recipes that I've been trying out since I started. I recommend Whidbey Nutrition for anyone looking to improve their diet long term!

    -AS

  • I had a bad reaction to a medication that did a number on my digestive system. After working with Alex and Charlotte for a few months I’m almost 100% healed - I haven’t felt this good in a long time! I’m sleeping better, have less pain, more energy, and much better focus. With their help, I've finally been able to get back gardening and other things I enjoy.

    -JL

  • I used to not be sure if what I was eating was impacting my mental health and cholesterol levels. Alex’s B-vitamin supplement recommendation immediately helped to reduce my anxiety. And, after following the meal plans and recipes for a few months my LDL is finally back to where it should be. No other practitioner I’ve worked with has been so thorough and gone out of his way to answer my questions and personalize my program.
